Road (brand) 2x15 cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
On my local Craigslist there is a 2x15 bass cab for very affordable. It is described as an "old school Road brand". I emailed instantly asking about more info, but I Googled all I could and was unable to find anything. Is Road a brand, or is that the model of the cab by chance?

I was just referred to this by the owner:
Road Electronics 2x15 cab

That helps a lot! But if anyone else has any more info to share, please do so.

A house brand of a music store out in California, Road never got too big. But they were made by Bud Ross, of Kustom fame. Kind of what Bud did after he literally gambled away Kustom.

Not bad gear by any means, and they were eventually bought by Rickenbacker.

Awesome, thanks. It is all original, and both speakers are 8 ohm, does that make it a 4 ohm cab?

I am pretty sure I will, I have been looking for a good 2x15 and for the price I don't think I can pass it up.

Hey, if you don't end up wanting that cab please post a link to the craigslist ad.
I have been looking for other ROAD cabs for a while now and would love to own that 215.
I have a ROAD 4x12 cab that is my main bass cab and sounds amazing, built like a tank too...and it feels like it when you pick it up, but tone of the gods.

I used 2 Road 412's with an Ampeg 810 for years in the late 70's and early 80's.Those 412's sounded great.I bet that 215 will too. Nice grab if you can get it!

I plan to use this vintage Acoustic 4x12 with it. I am regaining gear once again after some time away from bass. Figured I'd start with speakers since I have found these great deals. Next I will need to decide on an amp to power 2x 4 ohm cabs and shake some walls!
