Hiho, after years of havin a roland db 700 and loving it,s sound I took the plunge and got a powered extension cab for it.
I have said for years that I was going to get one for bigger gigs and a back up for using pre amps and pod like stuff and never got one so I bit the bullet and got one.
Impressions-the original db700 was built in America and is a sturdy piece of kit,the ext is made in china with what I believe is a neo speaker and is very light weight compared to the old one.The old one is sturdier built with thick ply and proper mortice joints.
I rigged them up together and plugged in-what a sound and more power than a saturn V rocket.
Very pleased and will get rid of some of my other amps and cabs as they won,t get used now.
I should have done this years ago cause I,ve said it often enough that I was goin to do it.
If you get the chance try out the amp and the powered extension cab.

As it is, they have done some pretty impressive bass-oriented pieces, but the momentum has been poor. |

| | | | hiho,I ,ve tried both but settled on full range at the moment but you never know what,s round the corner .
It,s nice to have the option of going one way or the other.
My Ricky is absolutely thunderous, cutting ,snarling-p-bass just rocks-thunderbird is nice and polite and thundering-musicman is ballistic slapping but rocks up just nicely.
They are seriously underated amps,I,ve swore by them for years and should have done this years ago.

| | | | easy to stack you just pull the wheels out and stick it on.
It really beats me how people haven,t tried these out ,must be lack of advertising or just a well kept secret.
This is a serious rig with plenty of volume and great sound, excellent onboard compressor onboard the combo, solid state, valve emulation and tube drive.Ext cab can run subwoofer or full range.

I think 2 of these with a killer preamp would be stellar! |

| | | | hiho, bear with me for photos but I run mine with a pre amp I must admit.I do that for running a DI line off the pre amp for the PA or just the pre amp for recording using the DI line out. It,a handy sometimes to have the ground lift as well.
What pre amps am I using -sansamp bass driver, hartke bass attack, behringer v amp.
Sansamp gives you a great sound that you can,t leave home without, bass attack has a lovely modern sound to it with a sweepable middle cut which is nice and the behringer just has too much stuff there but some cracking sounds and does guitar, keyboards and vocals as well, good at home for doin demos.
The other reason I use pre amps is if your amp goes down you still have your sound coming through the PA which touch wood has never happened but belt n braces is the way forward.
