Has anyone tried playing their roland micro cube rx bass through the pa system via a microphone for live gigs and used the roland micro cube as a bass monitor and using the pa to amp up the volume? if so what did you think of the sounds and clarity??
thanks

I doubt you will get enough volume out of it to use it by itself as a stage monitor. It should work fine with the PA, but you will most likely need a monitor. I have plugged mine into a full sized bass amp, using it essentially as a preamp, it worked pretty well. Some of the effects are decent. Honestly, I can't remember if its speakers produce any sound when its line out is in use; I didn't mic it, just ran its out into the real amp. A mic would probably sound less than good; its speakers aren't so great, they are made to be audible, cheap, and efficient.

Thanks for that and just what I thought, your right regarding line out as it kills the sound out of the speakers so I was thinking of miking it and keeping the speakers active but sounds like clarity would be a big problem, for now I use a laney rb8 which is more than ample but it weight is a killer so I'm looking for ideas to use a smaller bass amp plugged into pa and use bass amp as my bass monitor, the laney comes in at 31k's.. anyone any ideas???
thanks in advance..
