Honestly, If you're going to buy a road case just bite the bullet and get a good one. A well built case will last you a lifetime.

And you won't find a good one one musicians friend or other retail site.

Here's one in your neck of the woods.

im really well versed in the ways of the road case. maybe a little too well ( ) as i have owned all kinds of heavy duty ata cases in my day. the idea of a lighterweight one with a telescoping arm to roll it is alluring as opposed to humping those other big buggers ive had in the past.

Those Gator rolling guitar cases are garbage. Both the guitar players in my band bought one and the handles broke within 6 months. One guitar player got a replacement and it too broke within a few months.

Right on. I've never really been impressed with Gator products. I'm not sure if anyone makes an off the shelf case for a 1x15. I checked SKB's site and didn't see anything.

If your going to do something - might as well go all the way and do it RIGHT.

In my opinion, those "gator road cases" look more like padded bags. With wood.

rigging up a telescoping handle would be fairly easy....two pieces of tubing, one that fits inside the other.....screw the big one to the case and a cotter pin holds the handle in place,up or down......but why not just spend 30 bucks on a two wheel dolly

Another angle I have mined: If you have some tools and a drawer marked "brackets and stuff", hit the local thrift store. You can get a good name brand suitcase with good handle/wheels for less than $10.

More $ but simpler, and new stuff, are tchweb.com and reliablehardware.com; musical equipment specific case hardware.
