RS212 new finish vs. old finish

Hey all. Just curious about the differences between the new and old finish. Not seeing much info here. Is it really that big of a deal?

New finish = smoother, nicer to look at! Looks almost like the Berg AE line finish.

+1 to the above.... darker, smoother, shinier. However, not really a big deal. Either finish absolutely requires the padded cover to keep from getting dinged up. Use the cover, no issue. Don't use the cover, and plan for chips and scrapes and dings.

I agree. Definitely, not a big deal.

I decided to add an RS212, and wanted matching generations, so I sold the RS212 I had in order to buy 2 matching units. After getting them and seeing the difference side-by-side, I'm sure I could have lived with one of each.
