Rubber feet for cab...big box hardware stores?

Sign in to disble this ad
I want to throw some feet on a cab this weekend to get it up and over the plastic corners when stacked on another cab.

I'd rather not have them shipped (cheap parts), but will go with Parts Express or similar if need be.

I DON'T want to chase from Home Depot to Lowe's to Menard's to Ace....and so on this weekend, so before I resign myself to a web order, thought I'd ask if anybody has bought feet recently that you think are decent.

WHat I'm looking for:
  • 1.5" in diameter, more or less.
  • Soft rubber with steel washer.
  • Tall enough to clear the plastic corners when stacked
  • Quality > Price

Anybody found something like this recently at your local "big box" hardware store?

Thanks in advance for saving me some weekend time!

I got some recently from Reliable Hardware (local for me) for one of my Eden cabs; they meet all of you criteria:

rubber feet

Not a bricks and mortar store, but try:

www.mcmaster.com

and do a search. They have everything.

Hmm...I always go to Ace first. They have a lot of stuff. What I like most is when I walk in the door, almost immediately someone asks can I help you find something, and then proceeds to tell me the aisle and side, or even better, leads me right to the item I need. That's customer service. That's why I go there - even if something costs a little more because I don't have to waste time wandering around a big store.

+1. Most hardware is produced by Penn-Elcom, and it's specific to speaker cabs and road cases. Big boxes don't carry Penn-Elcom, nor do local stores. Places that cater to speaker building, like www.speakerhardware.com, do.

Yeah I have spent a lot of time looking for that stuff locally but I just get it from Leland now. The markup on local stuff is usually enough to pay for shipping anyway.

I use these from Home Depot:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

Although HD used the wrong pic. They really look like this:
http://www.promaxcommerce.com/Shephe...B000FSQ0TC.htm

They are 1/4"-5/16" thick, so you may need to double them up if you want to them to be tall enough to clear the plastic corners when stacked. In that case you'll need longer screws. What nice about these is that they have embedded washers.

As expected, my local run-around came up dry this morning.

Just ordered these:

http://www.speakerhardware.com/rubbe...6-hdwf1686.php

5/8" high gives me a spare 1/8" of space between the top/bottom of the plastic speaker cabinet corners. Should look nearly flush when stacked. Bought three sets of four in total....4 for the side of the HS210 and another 4 for bottoms of HS210 and HT112ER. That way, I've got feet weather I run single cabs or stack. Should be here in a couple of days.

Not that soft but sturdy and tall.

Nice. I also looked at these (even taller):

http://www.reliablehardware.com/rubb...hdiameter.aspx

Both too tall for my needs (I hope, anyway).

Follow-up: the feet from Speakerhardware.com were perfect. Also, I ordered on Saturday afternoon and they were here Monday. Hard to beat that kind of service - - HAVE to recommend those guys! A+++
