Rubber feet on GK MB212?

Sign in to disble this ad
Why aren't there good rubber feet on the MB combos? I just got a MB115, then returned it for a 212 and the thing just feels wrong sitting on hard plastic corners.

Has anyone mounted some good rubber feet on theirs? I'm thinking of ordering some. All cabinets that I've had in the past, except one had them. It keeps the cabinet from sliding around.

Also, while I've seen it mentioned, has anyone successfully turned the XLR jack around? I'm thinking I'm going to pull the amp out, and carefully peal up the Tolex, round out a finger width half-circle, then re-clue the tolex down. This really boggles my mind how it has survived this long being wrong.

If you watch early videos of the combos, the entire amp section is flipped the other direction, putting the input jack on the right, and the XLR on the left, thus leaving plenty of room for your finger to pop the pin. Somewhere it got switched with no adjustment.

Thoughts?

Less weight? Easier manufacturing? Hasn't been an issue for me and my MB212.

Haven't tried to modify the XLR port. Let us know if you do it.

Since only 1 screw holds in the XLR, you'd have to drill another hole in the amp casing when you turn it around to secure it again.
I just use a credit card to push in the release when I want to remove the XLR cable.
Hopefully GK will correct this with the upcoming updated combos.
