Sadowsky MV5 & Markbass LM Tube - perfect for each other!

Later last year I bought a Metro Vintage 5 which is an amazing bass!

The problem is that with ash and maple you get a lot of zing and my bass doesn't have a VTC knob.

Last week my Little Mark Tube arrived and it was tonal bliss when I paired the two with my hartke 2.5xl!

The VLE control on this head works like a charm.
Instant vintage!

Raphael Saadiq should check this babies out!

Very cool. The LM is a great match with those Hartke 210's also. My buddy Mikebass had a pair of those a while back (the ones with the aluminum 'mid driver/tweeter'... is that the model you have?), and they sounded just killer. A little heavy by today's standards, but GREAT tone.

I too really like that VLE control, especially with brightly voiced basses that don't have a passive tone control as part of their circuitry.

Enjoy!

Exactly my case here, Ken!
The .5 in 2.5XL stands for the tweeter.

I was thinking about selling it and get a GS112 and a 112NT.

The tone is really great, but it's very heavy by my standards.

I read Mikebass' thread about the Hartke 2.5XL a while ago.
Really helped me decide to go for it.

Thanks, Pickles.
Sweet rig indeed.
This rig is so good that shows how crappy my playing really is. :hide:
