Is it safe to use fuzz/OD/distortion + cab with a tweeter put off?

I've never used a cab with a tweeter before, but I might get an Ampeg SVT 410HLF.
I know tweeters get shot with fuzz and overdrives and generally sound bad with them.
I have a Swollen Pickle that sounds awesome on 810E, and am getting a B3K.
Would those two be safe to use if I dime the tweeter completely down? Or can I still blow it that way?

Does the 410HLF sound good without the tweeter?

Okay, a couple of things....
It might now be fair to say that dirt necessarily sounds bad with tweeters, but maybe one would need to change the settings vs. what you'd set up going into a single 15", say.
The reason any driver blows, is because too much voltage is going in, and/or it's working too hard to reproduce sound at a volume greater than it can handle. So again, if that's the amount of high end you've got going on, you may want to use your ears and actually adjust what's going in so that it sounds good. If your amp is fairly matched to you cab, I can't see that should be a big problem. Really, you'd need A LOT of high end to blow things.
Also, yes, if you turn down/off, the tweeter then you're essentially preventing that voltage from going near the driver.
Also - don't most cab designs have some sort of tweeter protect circuit these days anyway? Usually a light bulb thing?

It's fine and you'll probably like your distortion sound better with it off.

Thanks for your input guys!
So what if I put the tweeter volume at like 9ish, 10ish o' clock?
Could it withold such a massive fuzz like the pickle? (if it sounds good of course!)
