Same old question

I just got home from playing a small town festival gig and as usual the sound was terrible and I couldn't hear myself. I should have put my cabinet on top of something so I could blast it in my ear instead of my ankles. Here is my setup: G&L L-2000 thru a late 80's GK 400RB pushing an Aguilar 2x12. The think sounds great and has plenty of db (at least it should).

I play in an 11 piece band with 4 hours, 2 guitars, drummer (not a very loud one), percussion, keyboard... We get loud! The only time I can really hear myself is if I put the cabinet on top of something about 4 feet in the air. Basically blast myself out.

If I'm going to go with something different I would like something lighter. Would a Genz Benz Shuttle or a Promethian single 10" sitting on top of an extension cabinet work? I could tilt the small cab at my ears. ??? I like the idea of having a small combo for practice that can power an extension cabinet. I'm just not sure that is the answer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

why not just tilt the aggie cab? you don't need to get it 4 ft in the air. you just need to tilt it a few degrees so it aims at your head and not your knees. the smaller combos would work, but i'm a big believer in matching cabs, so if you went that route, i'd get a matching cab for whatever combo you decide on.
