Sansamp Bass Driver DI vs Tech 21 VT with Ampeg B100R?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a P-Bass and B100R and was thinking one of these might shape the sound a little closer to the B-15. Which one do you think will work the best? Or do you have any other similarly priced alternatives? Thanks!

even though the b100r sounds a lot like a b-15 by itself, the vt adds some very lifelike ampeg-style overdrive whereas the bddi is less brand-specific imho. if i were just doing clean sounds, i wouldn't plug anything into the b100r, but i do like the extra edge you can get with the vt.

If you want old skool Ampeg B15 tones, I'd choose the Catalinbread SFT over the VT any day.
