Schroeder 101215BMF

Received this cab from Jorg last week, and I am sure glad I did. In talking with him about my tone goals and ideas, he suggested the 101215BMF. He has never steered me wrong before, so I figured I would give it a shot.

It's a larger cab (34" X 23.5" X 16), but it's fairly light weight at around 60lbs. I threw on some heavy duty 3" removable plate casters to make transport even easier. It's got a nice tough black rhino coating on it with a chrome grill. Handles are in a great spot for lifting it into the car, or up stairs. He rates this cab at 1000w @ 4ohms. Workmanship was top notch on this one as well.

I had two gigs this past weekend, and paired the cab with my Carvin B1500. It turned out to be a great pairing. I figured it would be as I always found Carvin heads (B1500, B800, B2000, BX1200, and the BX500 are the ones I have tried) to be a great match for Schroeder's. For the last couple of months, I have been running primarily the B1500 with the Schroeder 410BMF.

First thing I noticed at the gig, was how well it sat in the mix, and the smoothness of the tone. Where the 410BMF had great cut/bite, the 101215 had a sweet solid smoothness, but with authority. And this cab gets friggin' LOUD. And I though the 410BMF was ridiculous! All seemed even from the lows to the highs, and the bottom was HUGE. More so than I remember with any other Schroeder cab. Still not pillowy, but deep, controlled, defined, and quick. I also usually never run my tweeters, but on the second night, I eventually tried it at around the 10 o'clock position, and it really sounded complete. Nice rock and roll tone that sounded like it was coming out of my home stereo.

Where most of the characteristics I am describing seem to be present in his new BMF designs, this configuration just seems to take it to the next level for him IMO. I've never sounded bigger and tighter. This is my 9th Schroeder cab over the last few years. I get a kick out of trying his different designs, and achieving different things with each one. I think I'm at my happiest right now in my cab choice.

I've only got a couple of pics at this point:

Jorg is also coming out with a new 1012BMF box that is meant to fit onto the existing 15+L box he offers, to give you a modular 101215BMF. According to him, this combo also rocks pretty hard. I have no reason to doubt him on that one. I attached a pic below.

Please tell me there's a crossover in there, at least high passing the 10?

It has a crossover, but as to specifics, I wouldn't be able to answer that for you as I'm just a player. But Jorg is fantastic at answering questions about his products. Here is his contact info: jorg@schroedercabinets.com

Got a few gigs under my belt with this cab, and I am very very pleased. This week I paired it up with a Carvin B2000. This combination sounds MASSIVE. Very impressed.

I'm having a hard time understanding the logic of putting a 15, a 12, a 10 and a tweeter in a single cab like that, but hey, if it sounds good, more power to you!

Yeah, it seems counter intuitive, but I know Jorg is a guy who knows what he's doing, and as the player, you know what you're hearing. Weird.
