Hi all,
My much loved Schroeder 1210R 4ohm has an ailing 10" driver. This is one of Jorg's originals with the signed 12" driver and has certainly served me well! I've used it for many small to medium sized gigs with very good results. My main amp is the wonderful MarkBass SD800 and EA iAmp800 as a backup. I also use a Schroeder 410L 4ohm for large venues and outdoor gigs.
As I see it, my options are:
Recone
Replace the 10"
Replace both drivers (nine year old cab)
Replace both drivers with Jorg's neo versions
Dump the cab and replace the with new neo version
Dump the "bass playing" and take up piccolo (much easier loadin/loadout)
Jorg e-mailed me back this AM and said that he would send me a new 10" and I'd be back in business.
I'd really like to hear from my fellow Schroeder users or anyone else, for that matter.
Regards, Kirk

Thanks for the reply.
My concern regarding the "replace the 10 only option" is that the 12" will give up next and soon.
Kirk

I'm not anal about the sig on the cone, I just thought that they (the signed) had a different sound and were in short supply. As always, I could be wrong!
Where to send for QUALITY re-coning?
Later, Kirk

If your worried that the 12" driver might give out as well, offer Jorg some extra coin for one of those as well. As for Neo, unless the weight is an issue, keep the original spec drivers. I have a 12+L and the driver has a different voice. More suited to light un-pushed, passive Jazz usage. The 1210R responds more to active, aggressive basses.

Later, Kirk | Jorg would be the best to ask, I've used Orange County Speaker, but don't know if the source the same cone?

Thanks for the replies and advice on the neo issue. I'll speak to Jorg on Monday.
Now, enough of this bass stuff! I'm getting on the road bike and cruising up to the Colorado National Monument. It's right here in my backyard. Yummy!!!
Later, Kirk

Thanks for all of the kind words of advice.
I'm sending Jorg a check and he is sending me a new replacement 10" driver.
This seems to be the best way to go. New neo drivers would be over four times the price of the 10" so this was a "no brainer"!
Regards, Kirk
