I heard the new 1212 and really liked it. Filled the club quite well.

But this looks devastating!

That looks like it might literally be the cab to end all cabs.

EDIT: Those specs are impossible. And 56 lbs.

Looks like you're going to have the cabinet limited to the output of the smallest driver, if they're all run full range.

Fix'd.

Also, that's perhaps the least scientific looking design I've seen from this millennium, but then again, good tone is subjective.

I would hope they're NOT run all full range, right?

Of course they are, it's a single full range bass cab, no built in crossover. I like many of their cabs, but this one makes no sense at all.

He's not exactly the most discerning reviewer I've ever seen as far as Schroeder stuff goes. I can't recall him posting a negative thing about a Schroeder product but I can recall him selling a lot of them in the classifieds.

I really, really, really hope there is some kind of ohm shuffling at least to protect that 10. That's what I tell myself when I look at that cab...hopefully Jorg at least did something like wire the 10/12 in series and then parallelled that to the 15 or something, to protect them.

If they're all full range in parallel it's pretty much the dumbest design ever.

Thumbs up Triad Schro

It's probably wired: 10 and 12 @ 16 ohms each and then 15 @ 8 ohms. All parallel. = 4 ohms. BTW, I have the BMF 21012 which is wired the same(I think)and it replaced my Carvin BRX 210 plus Avatar neo 212 stack which sounded great! Now it's one trip from the car. I now have the clearest, fattest sound I've ever had. Plus that cab throws way out into the room. No need to go in the P.A. (for the most part). I've gotten many complements from the crowd and my band members.

That cab just doesn't make any sense in light of the new crossed over mid driver designs coming out...

Even if it is crossed over inside it is still not a very well thought out design and could be accomplished in a much more efficiently designed and cheaper product.

I thought we already concluded that driver size is not the determining factor in a cabinet's tone, so putting all three sizes together to "get the best of all of them" seems more like a marketing gimik aimed at the "uneducated" player in an attempt to increase sales... But thats all just speculation on my part.

I imagine the 10/12/15 Celestion speakers all sound a little different so it might be he's trying to achieve some kind fo tonal nirvana. It's a pretty haphazard way of doing it and almost positively 100% marketing gimmick,

On the other hand, Schroeder's 1212MBF cab is a solid design and I have no idea why anyone would consider halving their effective midrange dispersion angle and use this weirdo cab when such a nice design is available.

A lot of speculating going on in regard to the Triad. Why doesn't someone call to find exactly what's going on with the cab.

If there is a 3-way crossover in there one of you guys can send me a hat and I'll video tape myself eating it.

I emailed Jorg about this last week. I have'nt heard back, and he's usually pretty responsive when it comes to questions.

bump for info. The concept seems interesting but I know less than nothing about cab design. What does it sound like?
