Score: MusicmanAudiophile HD210 Cab. Drivers?

Just picked this up used for a song. After cleaning it up I snapped some quick pics. The 10" drivers are not Eminence, I yanked 'em and you can also tell by the pics shot from the back. Looks like Celestion's to me. Cast frame with really heavy magnet structure.

Anyone know for sure? Tom Bowlus? Nice sounding cabinet.

Maybe JBL, but the pics don't show the definitive side view.

MusicMan originally being a Leo Fender company probably would have used drivers sourced from a local supplier, not foreign, and as he had a long standing relationship with JBL down the road apiece that's the most likely source.

That would be my guess, since Marco did build these amps and cabs for MusicMan.

Everything I've read on these say they're B&C drivers. I had a 210 and 212, and IIRC, the 212's drivers said B&C on them, but the 210's didn't for some reason.

Yes, Markbass made these and the companion amp for Ernie Ball.

Great cabs and amp, but a bit on the heavy side. Built like a titanium tank though.

driver pic

Thanks to all who pitched in. Here is another pic I should have taken before, I'm thinking B&C too but I've never seen one before. 2.5" voice coil looks like. Tweeter is an Eminence APT80. Nice little squawker. I might gut this cabinet at some point in favor of a 4 ohm load, what would be a good neo contender?

I put Deltalite LFs from Avatar in my hd212 when I blew one of my stock B&Cs, and it sounds just like it originally did, if not better. Took about 30lbs off the thing, too, which made it much easier to transport.
It was my favorite cab, til I got my Eden rig.

Yup. Lots of barky midrange.

There should be a set of numbers on the side or back of the speaker. Google "EIA codes" and see if you can match the numbers or manufacturer's identity and date code. Sometimes when you get a box, the speakers may have been downgraded. Musicman box is VERY good, though.

Grill

Thanks for the data on the EIA codes, I will look into that. Yes this box looks every bit as sturdy as any Bergantino cabinet I have owned.
Tonight I paired this cab with my Bergantino HT115 and Carvin B1500 on an outdoor gig. O...MY.... GOD.
