Scratchy gain control

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a GK head that is a few years old. The volume will periodically cut out. When I turn the knob controlling the main volume level, there's a scratchy sound and I have to turn the knob back and forth several times before I get a consistent level. This seems like a common problem with old amplifiers. Is there a good way to fix this?

Answering my own question, it looks like there's some stuff called DeoxIT that is meant for this application. If people have other ideas, let me know. Thanks.
