Sealed Cab Speaker Suggestion
Will the Faital Pro 10FE200 be a good fit for this sealed cab?
The exterior dimensions are:
Thanks in advance.
Download WinISD for free, and find out.
I think it says this:
That's more than enough volume for a sealed 410. 1.0 cu-ft/speaker stuffed loosely with damping material should work well for the 10FE200. Too small raises the F3 point and could make it boomy if there is a large hump (much over 2 dB) at 120 Hz but making the box too big not only makes it bulky to transport but also reduces excursion limited max power handling.
Thanks 5 String.
I must have bad karma on this board. I see others post questions similar to this and they get a lot of replies. People ask if specific drivers work in a cab and people reply with tech info, feedback, graphs, etc. Not for me though. I am not sure why.
I would do something else with such a volume.
If you put that 10FE200 in such a HUGE cab you will be dissapointed.
What are your goals with that cab if I may ask?
I think the 450 liters is just WinISD:s suggestion of optimal volume...
WinISD should stop making suggestions! :hiding:
Well, even 170liters is BIG for a 10" driver. The 10FE200 has a high Qes and Vas, that's the problem. You can't get a "perfect" allignment with these kind of drivers. The only type of enclosure that will work for a smooth responce would be a TL. But since where talkin 'about basscabs here the 10FE200 works best if you slam 8 of 'm in a SVT like 810 cabinet.
Just my 2cents
Happened to others, including myself, on a variety of topics.......
1) You didn't get alot of responses BECAUSE this has already been covered and you can find it by doing some searches.
2)Go to faitals page and pull of the specs for the exact impedance driver you intend to use because they very alot from impedance to impedance.
Here's a tip. And I'm serious.
Call these guys.
Tell them your inside dimensions. They will walk you through several choices in your price range and help you come to a good conclusion. When I was refurbishing an old Ampeg B40 4-10 sealed cab, I called and the guy spent almost thirty minutes on the phone with me running different ideas by me. I got the impression that there is NOTHING that guy would rather do than see to it I get the right speakers for my application. GREAT customer service! I ended up getting Eminence Legends and that cab sounds AMAZING with my 5 string basses and my V4 head. Those speakers were EXACTLY what I was hoping for.
So,spend some free time with an expert on the phone. He will get you where you want to be. I couldn't be happier with my experience working with them.
Arjank - I forgot to mention that this is a 4X10 cab, that is pretty important!
two fingers - I will give US Speaker a call. thanks.
