Sealed cabs or Non-Sealed Cabs that is the question!

Sign in to disble this ad
So looking at cabs over the last few weeks and was wondering what is a sealed cab and what is a non-sealed cab? whats the difference? whats the similarities? is their always a price difference (the Peavey sealed cabs I looked at were stupid cheap) and I think the headliners were sealed and the VB were non-sealed. any information would be helpful. Triedf searching on TB but couldn't find a thread for it.

you can find all you need to know about sealed vs ported in a google search, but there's no way to tell you the similarities and differences because they're different for every cab, and there are plenty of other factors to take into consideration besides that.

+1. 90% of what's rumored to be the differences between sealed and ported is just that, rumor, and mostly unfounded rumor at that. Here's what you want to do: play through as many cabs as you can, buy the one you like the best, whether it's sealed, ported or otherwise.

+2 to both ^ of them. No substitute for hands on experience.
