Not sure about volume yet...after the problems, I'm a little gun shy.
This is the first time anyone commented on my tone, coincidently.

How's it going?
And yes, mikeo I know...but had no choice.
Thought about a svt2pro but didn't dig it as much....and it was expensive.

Really nice tone. I haven't used a lot of Ashdown equipment but this one had a great tube sound and was pushing a good amount of air. I used the sub-octave control on a couple numbers and also futzed with the built in compressor on a couple. Not too shabby at all. I would give it two thumbs up. I still love my Shuttle 9.0 though.....

Try different tubes in it, they do contribute noticeably to the tone. I run an old Sylvania. I recently got a Markbass F1 which sounds great too, but in a very different way. I still haven't decided which I prefer, actually. The tiny F1 punches through like mad and the Klystron has a real sweet richness that fills up space.

| | | | Josh I am very proud of you, this was an excellent move in the right direction.
Took me 2 plus year to knock some sense into you though.
You do know your Ashdown is made in China, and altough it is, it will be a killer amp on the road.
Now you might want to look at the Ashdown cabs that go with it, they make a killer cab too.
One 4x10 and one 2x15 will blow your mind.
If you ever get the coin, look at the UK made stuff.
How do you like the Sub Harmonizer, I never us that on my amp, but I think you'll like the extra sub boom
Hope the tour is going well.
You can thank me, and pay homage to your master later.
Even though I'm a roots/rock geetar play, I buy killer gear and know the difference between great bass tone and BS.
Rock on |

Handles most sized gigs. Haven't had the chance but would love to hear it through a good 610 or 810. Im currently running mine through an ashdown 210 & 115 rig. I've been meaning to try different tubes in the preamp but haven't gotten around to it yet. The evo II doesn't have the compressor and I don't touch the sub harmonizer... Just not my thing. A great amp IMO that I plan on keeping for a long time

I think it was some sort of protection thing.
So, I ditches it, and got the ashdown.
I'm really digging it, so far.
