Question Seismic 4x10 reloaded w' Eminence neos

Sign in to disble this ad
Recently found a Seismic 4x10 bass cab reloaded with Eminence BassLite CA2010 woofers - aluminum cones, neodymium magnets. What should I expect from that rig? I want to drive the cab with a MarkBass Little Mark 250.

Might sound great but more likely you'll find a crapshoot!.

Is the cab available to hear with the Little Mark 250? It would be best to play through it and your decision would be easy.

Sounds OK to me, but then I'm not an expert. The cab has no tweeter, just a ducted port and straight-up series-parallel wiring with two 1/4" jacks. Nice thing was, it cost $150 used. Perhaps the thing to do is build a new enclosure. Maybe a pair of 2x10s so I could set up a vertical 4x10 array. Judging from the frequency-response data for the drivers (downloaded from Eminence), maybe a crossover with an extension subwoofer. Then again, that's a lot of work for an amateur.

I have 4 of the ca-2010's and I love em. Lost almost 100lbs from my peavy 410 with em. Just look at the specs of the speakers to see if they are compatible with the enclosure. I have no low end loss with them and I don't even need a tweeter cause they do hit the upper register with no problem. All videos on my youtube page are using the cab loaded with the speakers if you want an audio example.

I have the reccomended box volumes for both sealed and vented, but that's all I got from the Eminence website. I don't know how those specs relate to single drivers vs two or four drivers in the box. Anyone know of a good website that will educate me about this?

Thanks, Bill! I was hoping you would weigh in. Now I shall go forth and study.
