Does anyone know anything about these? Are they good? Are they crap?
They are pretty inexpensive and I'm wondering how long it will take to blow them up playing at a pretty decent volume for a couple of hours at a time for gigs. http://www.seismicaudiospeakers.com/...t-p/sa-215.htm

No ports either....
I saw the price and I am strapped for cash so as usual, it looks good....

Have you checked out used gear? Might be able to pick up an old Peavey 2x15 for not too much... |

I'm not going with those.
You know, I have wanted two Peavey 215D's for awhile now and there are none to be found.
I live between Milwaukee and Chicago. To ship one, let alone two of those cabinets any distance would cost more than the cabs themselves would. I seem to be wasting time waiting on a miracle hoping that I will find them around the Chicago-Milwaukee and surrounding area. I know that a lot of people have told me the typical 'keep your eyes open, they show up from time to time' line and others saying that they haven't seen them for awhile.
I want two 2X15 cabs but the lowest I've seen is 8-900 bucks each. And I don't want to buy some cheap stuff either.
I guess some might think of Peavey as cheap or not hip but that stuff is built like a tank and holds up over time.
I want those Peavey 215D's real bad.
I guess that is what is commonly referred to around here as GAS?

| | Hey, what does this knob do? | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: New Hampshire | | | LOL, yeah, that's GAS.
You're right about the Peavey stuff. The deeper 2x15 cabs were fine as long as the weight wasn't a problem for you.
How about used from GC? Don't they have some deal where they'll ship used kit to a local store for cheap or nothing? |

I got an old WOODSON Electronics 2x15, with Fisher Speakers for $90 in a music store over spring break, and even with two eminence betas in it, it only cost me about $250....

How about used from GC? Don't they have some deal where they'll ship used kit to a local store for cheap or nothing? | I had a Peavey 215D bought and paid for from a GC in California one month ago. I asked them on the phone if it was going to be a problem to ship it to the Arlington Heights, IL (Chicago) store. They said no problem. A week went by and I get a call from GC saying no dice. The cab is too big and weighs too much and it would have cost over $200 to ship it to me. Well, DUH! I ASKED THEM IF IT WAS OK!
Dumbfvcks!

I don't even know how many different ones are even being made these days. I know of Fender, Peavey,(unless it's been discontinued) Berg and Eden and those last two are expensive.
I really would like to know what the best 215 cabs are. Not just personal 'best' but truly the best.
I still want two of those Peavey 215D's though.

Berg no longer makes 215
Meas has 215
Bareface has 215
but you can also find lots of 115 and stack them ...

You have trouble finding Peavey 215"s on craigslist?

There aren't any last I checked and if I am lucky enough to find one, I sure hope it's nearby or at least within 100 miles of me otherwise the shipping will cost more than the cab.
I have called just about every used, rental, and any other music store and e-mailed many with my GAS list. No responses at all.
I don't want the 13" deep 215's, I want the 18" deep 215D's.
Nobody has them or nobody is parting with them. All I know is that there were a TON of those made and I can't locate a single one.
Typical, for me.

That would at least help me in choosing one if I need to break down and buy new ones.
I just don't want to find out about the greatest 215 cab available after I already buy a couple.
I want to make these two 215D's the last bass cabs I ever buy.

If so, I'm really looking for two 2X15's because I run stereo.

That said, you might want to hit up two music stores in Dekalb.... one is "Poc's music" http://www.google.com/search?client=...05a7bb65e82229 and the other is "ax in hand".... http://www.axinhand.com/estore/home.php
Poc's music was a bit of fun, because they had random old amps.... why not give them a try? I got my WOODSON 2x15 from them, and had my aunt and Uncle carry that huge speaker in the back of their car from IL to NC for my graduation. Family!

Typical, for me. | Huh. A while ago there were at least two for sale in the bay area. Probably sold by now. Too far from you anyway, the shipping would be murder. I considered getting them, but I don't have the money right now.

If I can't get those, if I decide that the waiting has been too long, I'm really not sure what 2X15's I could get but either way they would have to be local unless I bought them new.
Then the shipping charge is better, if I want to spend like $700.00 more than I want to.
It sucks when you can't just find two old cabs that most people would just rather part with because of the weight issue. I'll gladly take them off their hands, err, backs.

Not what I want. I was just wondering how they might be. I might have to get a backup plan for two other 215's. Maybe two old V4B cabs. Are those ported? Do they need to be?
I bet they are just as hard to find as these Peavey cabs.
I have G.A.S. pains.
