Seismic Audio 4x10

Sign in to disble this ad
Recently purchased a Seismic Audio 4x10 cab used for $100. I really didn't expect much, it was just a good deal and I had the cash to blow. The thing lists for $200ish on the Seismic Audio website. It's 800w at 8 ohms with horn.

I am absolutely astonished how good the thing sounds for a cheap cab. It's very deep and thick. Up until recently, I had never even heard of the brand. But damn, this thing thunders. I'm using it with my GK MB210 combo for a 6x10 setup.

Just goes to show another prime example that price doesn't always mean quality. If you guys get a chance to try one, I definitely recommend it. The tone compares to $500 "big name" cabs in my opinion.

I kind of had to swallow my pride with this. I've always had a slight disdain for "off brand" gear. This purchase has definitely caused me to be more open-minded.

well unfortunately this cab won't last if actually used and moved around alot. only the back is plywood and the rest is fiberboard so be careful with it.

I've got a Seismic 210 that stays at a drummer-friend's house. I just bring an amp with my bass and VT pedal and always sound great! No, they will not stand up to abuse, but I never abuse my gear. Accidents DO happen, and the Seismic cabs won't fair too well!

picked up 4x10 with a horn last week a scratch and dent from thier ebay store last week, I really like the sound...but man I have to agree with these guys I don't think Id do a world tour with it.
good home/studio/practice cab. I'm going to try and build one out of 3/4 plywood... and go from there.

Yeah, my original post didn't cover the durability aspect... but I don't really care about that. My band uses a trailer with weighted, lockable anchors, so the cab isn't going to take any hard hits. I put wheels on it, so it's unlikely that it will be dropped.

My only point was that I (at least) would expect a $200 ($100 used) 800w bass cab to sound like crap and fart all over the place.

And it does not. Therefore, I am pleased. It actually sounds great with my GK head.
