So recently I've been thinking about a few things concerning my amps and rig. I own 7 amps right now and I'm selling all of them minus my b15n.
Ampeg B15n (keeper, although i'm tempted to get the new heritage reissue just for the fact that its hand made and probably better built and it has switchable wattage 50 to 100, or just get the heritage and keep it as well)
Ampeg svt350 Usa made
Ampeg VT-22
Acoustic 150b
Univox 1236
Fender twin
Peavey Duel Two Twelve
The ampegs and acoustic go into a mesa powerhouse 1000 cab. The univox was an impulse buy because it was so cheap and original and I use it with b15 cabs sometimes. I sold my mesa400+ in its rack case because it was too big and uncomfortable to move. It probably weighed in with tuner and power conditioner at the 100pound give or take mark.
I've been looking at green amps lately because they seem built like tanks and the look is awesome to top it off. Can anyone comment on them? I'd be specifically interested in a 2 x 15 cab or a 4 x 10 cab to go along with a volume unit... the 180 watt kt88 model.
Any experience with them in general would be appreciated...

Actually the new Heritage B-15 will have a bias switch that allows you to switch from "1964" bias giving you 25 watts, to a "1966" bias which will give you 30 watts. And just because they are new, doesn't mean they will be built better. I'm sure the folks at Metro amps will do them justice - but the old B-15's were built like tanks - otherwise there wouldn't be that many in service today.

Also, don't get the PH1000. The 4x10 + 1x15 thing is just not a good idea. Search for a few reasons. I'd go for a 4x12, 6x10, or 2x15 in a similar box. |

It is able to run on KT-88's, 6550's, or 6L6's and only has 6 power tubes instead of 12. Depending on brand, it is able to produce just over 225 watts. It also is sweeter and warmer in sound than the 400 + and has the ability to break up into a nice tube over drive without getting stupid loud. I am not sure what you would be gaining in spending $3000.00 US dollars on a new amp that you don't know much about, if you could pick up something as good for 1/3 of the price. All the best in whatever you decide. Cheers.

I love my AD200B that they rebuilt, and it has been VERY reliable and sounds awesome!
It has been my experience that those with the most to say negative about them have the least actual experience with them.
