Has anyone had any experience with using this amps with bass guitar? I'm thinking about getting one and i can't seem to find any that are specifically for either guitar or bass.

They are/were a 50W two channel bass amp. A pair of EL34s, GZ34 rectifier and I think a trio of ECC83. For its day it was a fine amp. Today not so much.

Fairly obscure, but I would imagine it to be a great choice for home practice or recording. Jamming with a band, not so much.

I'd get it, as long as it wasn't a mega inflated vintage price.

It'd be usable with a very efficient speaker system.

Not so obscure in the UK in the late Sixties Rick. At that time there were hundreds of them around.

I bet it'd do rather well when used in conjunction with a larger bass amplifier.

ha, funny thread. I had a (used) Selmer Professional (2X12 ?) back in the day (early 70's). the one with the colored plastic "tone" buttons. Can't say that it was much of an amp and weighed a ton due to the metal sides on the thing. Very odd amplifier.

Why would you need it if you were running a larger, more capable bass amp? Just for show?

Send the highs to the Selmer, and the lows to a larger bass amp.

Kind of, a dual amplifier set up, ALA Geddy Lee or Chris squire.

Selmer was also, at one time, the owner of Ampeg.
