Send return on my amp

I just noticed my Markbass cmd121 has an effects send return on it. How're you guys using it? Where is it located in the circuit? Pre-eq? before or after the line out in the circuit? Can I use just the return like a gain bypass so I can use a outboard preamp like a channel switch?

read the manual.
The block diagram explains all circuit flow in the amp.

I looked though Markbass' site and all I find is other amps, surprisingly, plus no block diagrams. They keep their circuits pretty close to their chest. So any ideas?

an fx send/return is 99.9% of the time a pre-amp out, power amp in split.. to check this is easy..if you put a jack into the return and your amp cuts out then thats a power amp input..
