The 750 paired with the GS412 cab is absolutely phenomenal!

I started listening to myself play...
Not good.
If you've done it before you know what I mean...
It sounded that good... |

| | | | I run my one and only p bass (w/big flats) through an all-tube 70 pounder; with either 1 or 2 matching 15's. After 18 months on this rig I have started to wonder how I might go about choosing an alternate stack from Aguilar. My guess is that the SL 410+TH-500 will entirely do it for me, even to the point where my (practically new) old school rig either stays at home more or gets sold. But now I'm wondering if it might not be a better idea to park a 751 on top of that SL 410. I'm worried the TH-500 won't like flatwounds.? Someone please say so if you think I'm wrong about this. |

| | | Unfortunately, the SL410 is no longer available due to the dicey availability of neo drivers. There may be some shops around that still have them in stock, but they weren't out long enough to flood the market; so a NOS or used one will probably be hard to find.

Hit upon a DB750 with a DB112 and DB112NT almost 4 years ago and haven't changed since. Sure I wish it was lighter but every lightweight amp I've tried since sounds lightweight compared to the DB750, plus it's been rock solid. It is a thing of beauty!

Thanks for the info, guys. Turns out I don't turn gear over very often at all, though, at least I don't think so. 5 bass rigs since 1985? Anyway, I feel better about driving my big lead tube sled after hearing from you guys. Your comments are appreciated! |

There's a 751 in the classifieds now ... somewhat local, too ... but I just sunk $500 into my car this week, so I have to remain on the sidelines a little longer.
From reading his posts here, the customer service that Dave B provides is top-notch, as well! |

I used my AG500sc last night because I just didn't feel up to lugging the big boy. The AG sounded great and got the job done well enough, but I sure did miss that special kick that I get from the 750. I've been gigging mine for eight years and nothing has ever compared to it, in my opinion.
A wonderful, classic and timeless design. That the "the Daves" and the rest of the gang there are so great to deal with is an added bonus. |

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm thinking about it! Not sure I want to drop coin on it right now as the old day job is a bit, ah, well, you know.
I am certainly interested in checking one of those little fellas out. Tough to believe it can achieve the magic of the 750 though. Still, at four pounds it sure is tempting. |

I'm usually using the Shuttle 9.0/ae410 rig for convenience, but on occasion, when I lug the DB750, it reminds me why I like it so much! I just recently picked up a gs412 to pair with the DB750 for a few outside gigs I have coming up. So far, I'm very happy with the combination! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
