I don't know much about amp repair, but this sounds like a fuse...

Could be a fuse or it could be a myriad of other problems. Only way to find out is to get it looked at. $40 seems like a cheap price for a project.

Cool guys, thanks. I figured it might be a no brainer. I've wasted $40 on worse.

Assuming it's not anything super difficult to fix... this is the first post regarding a reasonably priced Sunn amp i have seen in a loooong time.

Good luck with it, dude!

Those Alpha 115s are stupid loud for a combo-amp!!

Hmmmm.... If it's a transformer, you're in for some $$$. If not, it should be easy.

Ever done solid-state repair before?

...none at all. I've replaced a fuse, and could handle new tubes. How would I be able to tell if it's a transformer?

My plan is to change the fuse as soon as I get it. If that doesn't work I'll risk bench prices at a shop and hope I didn't waste $80.
