Should I/Could I?

OK, I gotta know.

I see a deal on an Ampeg 410 Classic (looks like an HE) on CL. I already have an Ampeg 610hlf.

Would stacking them under my Peavey Mark XVIII XP (350 watts/4 ohms, 600/2 ohms) be 2 10s "better" than a fridge?

Pros? Cons? Overkill or just silly?

TIA!

I don't think you'll be happy with the results. You will be sending more power to each of the speakers in the 4x10 than the 6x10. Also, you may encounter phase issues which are just as likely when mixing non-identical drivers of the same size as they are when mixing drivers of different sizes.

Of the two, the power issue is probably the greater concern. I'd sell the 6x10 and buy up to either an 8x10 or two identical 4x10's if you want to move more air around.

Thanks, DM. I had thought as much but needed a push in the right direction.

Agreed, the 2 cabs are nothing alike, and would not pair well.
