Should I fix this Genz Cabinet?

I have this old Genz Benz GB210T-STD. Speakers blew, but otherwise the cab is in nice shape. I liked it, but it's not super powerful, and thus was fragile.



Should I fix it?
New speakers are $160/pair from Genz (GBX 1040-16). I paid $200 for the cab, used.

Should I fix it and sell it?
I don't think it's worth a ton.

Should I just sell it as is?
Shipping would cost more than the value of it as it sits.

I'd fix it. Solid 210 cab when it's said and done and you should be able to recoup the cost of the speakers should you need to sell, which puts you right back where you already are

Get 210's from from Genz. Maybe a pair of Uber speakers?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if our resident TalkBass loudspeaker gurus were to chime in at any moment to suggest which drivers will be the best match for that cabinet; no doubt, a very important consideration.

Well, before they do, JEFF GENZLER told me to buy these. So no matter what Talkbass loudspeaker guys have to say, the GBX 1040-16 is the speaker that the company's owner suggested. He wins.

Yes, I'd go with what Jeff suggests.

But if you're not going to use the cab when it's working again, then the entire exercise may not be worth the trouble. Sell it locally, tell the buyer where to get speakers, and you're done.

If I fix it, use it, then sell it, I'm golden. If I can get use enough to cover my labor, then sell the whole thing to cover my actual costs... that's a good thing.
