Should I look to get a new amp?

Do you like tone of the Sunn?
If so getting it fixed is still cheaper ($140) than buying a new amp or pretty much any used amp.
OTOH, those particular Sunns are not astonishingly great sounding like some of the earlier solidstate ones. (Beta Bass?)
If I were you I'd pick up a used GK 400RB or Beta Bass. Then in the future get the Sunn fixed when it is convenient.

Yea Ric he recapped it a year ago. Then it worked great for 8 months. Now it's acting up again....

I like the sunn a lot. I'm going to do those other tests now. My basement seems to have wacky power supply issues too.

I wish I had money for a nice new amp head that I could play big clubs with. That's the problem with playing originals. We usually have to sell tix - pay to play. Cover bands make the cash but I don't find it satisfying. I guess my creativity limits my purchases.
