Behringer BA410 Bass Cabinet

1000 watts for $40? I have been looking to move up from an Eden combo to a bigger rig. Any thoughts, providing I can find a decent head for the right price ... Yay or nay?

Any idea what the issue with the buzzing could be / likely is? Is it an easy fix?

Thanks

For $40 it's hard to go wrong, but don't think for a second that it can actually handle 1,000 watts.

Or that that is a "move up" from any decent piece of bass gear?

Might be worth it just to have a box for putting actual speakers in.

Haha I know what you mean Bstring. I need some extra volume in my arsenal.

Silkysmoove, I figured as much. If I can get 300-400 watts with some semblance of tone, I wouldnt be too upset for $40.

I've heard those things in action, and Im really no tone snob in the least, but "some semblance of tone" MIGHT be an optimistic goal with this...IMHO

I use one the odd time for rehearsals...they are "OK" at best, nothing spectacular, that's for sure.

Wow $40 is cool, but at the same time seems fishy.

Hard to tell sight unseen if the rattle is fixable...but like mentioned, might be a good cab to stock with some other 10's.

Any rattles, buzzes, noises would eventually drive me nuts.

But the box could be the trouble?

And you don't know if it is blown speakers, cracked cab, loose mounting, wires miss-routed and dancing on a speaker cone, air leaks, if the cab got wet and is swollen in bad places.....

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about moisture. Could very well be responsible for the crappy covering on it. We get enough rains, floods, and watermain breaks here that it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Thanks for all your input everyone! This is exactly why I come to TB.

Moving UP from an Eden to a Behringer?

$40 is cheap, but in my experience, when I buy cheap gear, I end up dissatisfied and wishing I would have spent a bit more to be happy. Then I usually try to cut my losses and get something I like, which ends up costing me more money in the long run.

So, unless you're very broke AND in desperate need for a 4x10, I'd advise considering that $40 to be $40 put toward something better.

Another way of putting it is this: if you've only got $40 to spend on a cab, can you really afford to spend money on a cab?

Well it is a Behringer, $40.00 is probably all it is worth.

No. Avoid. Save the $40 and put it towards a good product.
