Should I sell it???

Sign in to disble this ad
So here's the deal, I have a yorkville bassmaster 400 head and a AI clarus head/contra cab. I am wanting a tone suitable for a heavier rock sound. Should I sell my yorkville and buy a tone shaping di, like a sansamp bddi/tonehammer or keep the yorkville and just play through that?.... I don't want to sell my AI gear. So basically my question is this: will I be able to get a "good" rock tone though my contra and a sans amp bbdi? I would only sell the yorkville if I could get a comparable tone out of the claur/di combo (comparable not in the sense of similar tone but a rock sound in general... in no way am I attached to the sound of the yorkville)

Do any of you have experience with pairing AI gear with other tone shaping equipment? I've heard some people talk about pairing up their AI with the tone hammer...

Ultimately I will have to go into a store with my hear and try it all out, but it doesn't hurt to get some second opinions.
