I'm not sure I really see the advantage, backwise, to deadlifting two 4x10"s instead of tilting and rolling, and angling one single 8x10".

well for one i have a second amp i use as a spare (markbass lm3) and id be able to use just one cab for smaller gigs.

plus i have other bands members that would just carry it in not realizing what it is lol. my 810 is getting too big for some of our shows and no one ever wants to help me with it lol especially at a venue where there is stairs. im also 6 foot 4 and 270lbs so a 50lb dead lift isnt so bad to me.

Your band members won't help you with your stuff?

I'm sorry, but that's really lame. I wouldn't be in a band with people who weren't willing to help each other out.

That said, the ability to just bring half the rig for smaller shows is a definite advantage to two 4x10"s.

Awesome. I suppose since they're a bunch of sissies they would be more willing to load 4x10"s then.

There is a guy here (GregCool or something like that) who did what you are thinking of doing. And if I remember correctly he preferred the SP410s. I'd say go for it. Can't go wrong with Orange. I'm saving up for a OBC115, but it'll be a while before I can afford one lol. Orange is expensive but sooo worth it.

i think an 810 is easier to move than two 410's. why? very little deadlifting. the svt can almost always be leveraged whereas the 410 requires deadlifting at some point. the only hard part about 810's is stairs, but with a decent handtruck, even they aren't so bad.

I play a lot of shows where stairs come in to play lol so it would be a lil easier but the 810 is wayyyyy too much for smaller shows.

This would be the only benefit for doing it.

I would say get a Berg NV 610 ... But that is only my opinion. Best of luck. Cheers.

If you go to the 410s get yourself one of these. Heck I use it to move my powered subs around and they have wheels. Look for the ones that have skid plates on the arms so you can slide them down stairs.

I haven't had the chance to try Orange Isobaric Cabs, but if the really sound as good on stage as they sound on video I'd change in a heartbeat. A 4x10 with the foot print of a 2x10" is something I'd be willing to consider.

I don't know if physics agree wit those cabs though

All - the Orange isobaric 4x10 looks the same as a deep 2x10...so it's not a typical 4x10 look or form-factor.

But a single SP410 probably costs as much as your Ampeg 810.

I say go for it...but I also echo the other's sentiments that a single tilt-back cabinet is arguably easier to wheel around than two smaller cabinets that you have to lift and carry. I would consider a Bergantino NV-series cabinet at less than 100 lbs as an alternative.

It looks me like an honest suggestion, not a "smart remark." People from New Jersey need to stop taking offense so easily.

If you go with the Orange cabs I'd try to order 4 ohm models so you could safely use 1 or both with your CL.

I can't really imagine being limited to having an 8x10 cab. That pretty much eliminates doing small club /coffee house gigs...

one 4x10 + one 2x10 = perfect.
