Should i trade a Risson guitar tube head for Mesa Boogie 400+(needs some work)

Sign in to disble this ad
i have an old Risson ata-100 guitar tube head ....i know a guy who is willing to trade me for his mesa boogie 400+ bass head but the head has an issue he says ...one of the tubes doesnt light up fully ....(i know some repair shops though)
I got the Risson guitar head pretty reasonable not to long ago and its a little rare but i dont think it is worth as much as the boogie ......also i play bass and just fiddle with guitar ..i think im gonna do the trade......ANY SUGGESTIONS or recomendations before though.......thanks.........

yes...do it before he changes his mind it's possible there's nothing wrong with that tube, too. you can't tell if it's broken simply by the glow.

Rissons, while a very interesting company with a whole lot of street cred based on their background, are more or less unseen and practically worthless, compared to a Marshall or something.

So, yes.

Yes.

Bob Rissi designed the Fender Solid State amps (whether or not he should be proud of that, i won't go there )

But he also designed the Excelent RickenBacker Transonic amplifiers, and then his own Risson Amplifiers.
The only relevant Bass player that comes to mind who used RISSON gear was Nikki Sixx for a short time in 1983.... but he ditched them after about two seconds for a wall of AMPEG.

yeah i believe the guy decided not to do the swap out im sure he did his research and it wasnt something he wanted ...he said it would be like another marshall to him and he already has a few of them......the risson really sound awesome though....also on the boogie i believe it can possibly be a transformer which can get pretty expensive.
