I decided recently to make the switch back to 15's after playing through 10's and 12"s for many years. I just wanted to go for a more old school tone with that gutty thump I remember getting from 15's way back when.
So the new rig is an Ampeg PF-500 through two Hartke HX115 Hydrives. There's enough paper in the cones to get a real good old school tone, while the aluminum gives me a bit more edge even with the tweets off.
I'm so happy with the tone and punch from this setup that I've decided to officially proclaim my re-found love for 15's So lets see those 15" speakers. Vintage, modern, it's all good.

That rig really makes a statement - it just screams "REAL BASS AMP". I never get tired of seeing those fliptops.

2- 2x15" cabs the yamaha (sunn clone) handles the boom and the peavey keeps it loud and focused.
