Shuttle 6.0 D.I. question

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got a Shuttle 6.0 for dirt cheap. So far, I'm really liking the sound of it. The tube preamp dirties up really!

My question is:
When I use the D.I. in Pre-EQ, will it still send the tube saturation to FOH?

Thanks for the help.
Steve

Hmmm....I don't THINK so....I have one too and my sound guy set mine to Pre also. Should look into this myself!

Not in Pre setting. If you want any of the front panel controls to affect the tone you need to be in POST. If tube saturation is all you care about, you could keep the eq flat on the amp and just modify the volume and gain knobs.

By the way, if you go to the Genz Benz website you can download the manual for the amplifier which will describe this in a lot more detail.

Best of luck.

Ok cool.

Yeah, I've got the manual but it just says the D.I. is pre-EQ. It doesn't explain whether the it's post input buffer or gain stage.

Thanks for the help

ok, i see the confusion and its a good question. If you look at the block diagram at the end of the manual, (assuming you can decipher what it is saying), it shows that the pre setting for the DI is before it reaches the tube.

By the way, it is a fantastic piece of equipment that has served me faithfully since they started shipping them. Congrats on your acquisition, I think you will be happy with it. If you have any questions on using it feel free to PM me
