shuttle 6.0 help plzz

So I've searched and searched to no avail, so i figured I'd start my own thread on the topic,

I have a shuttle 6.0 and am usually running out of a 410 cab, I've been told that running a head with no cab will damage the head but my question is is this still true if I'm using the balanced line out? like can i run the balanced line out to my friends boss recording station with no cab attached?

Also when I'm using the headphone out jack do I need to have a cab connected?

Yes... what you have heard is in reference to tube amps. I use it as a headphone amp all the time.

You do not need to plug the Shuttle into a cab. I've owned my for over 3 1/2 years and I use it all the time as a headphone amp, plus at some shows I've used it as a DI only.

That's the great thing about the Shuttle, it's versatility!

The DI is on par with a Countryman DI.

Ok and on the headphone amp note, do I need to get headphones with a quarter inch jack? Because I've been running ear buds through a quarter inch adapter and I'm not getting any sound. Am I missing something?
