ShuttleMax Users?

Sign in to disble this ad
I see tons about the Streamliners...really want to try one, BUT...

Anyone using ShuttleMax amps? I've had a SM12.0 for about 10 days now, matched up with a GB Uber 212 and an Uber 410...I mostly play upright bass.

Any other ShuttleMax users? Upright players as well?

I've been using a ShuttleMax 9.2 into an Uber 410. Absolutely loving this setup.

Awesome! Wondering why the Streamliner thread gets a zillion replies, but the SM series isn't getting the same amount of attention...would be curious to know how people are setting theirs up, how road worthy they've been, etc...

Did my first gig with the SM and Uber 212 last night...in a string band, no drums, playing upright...it was pretty darn cool, but not exactly what I'm used to...gonna do another gig with the string band next week and try the Uber 410 instead...with my main band, I'll be using both cabs

Both amps are VERY road worthy... I have flown with both of mine..
I Like them equally for their different characters..
Been using my SM12 this month since i am doing a gig with Backline rentals with 2 810s .. and the MAX12 handles those two cabs effortlessly. And its tight sounding too.. Also using my Streamliner 900 with a pair of Uber 1288s on just about everything else.. Flawless tight and punchy all the time... The Uber 1288s also sound real good with the MAX 12.. The 1288 take EQ very nice...

The Shuttle Max 12.0 is an excellent versatile amp. There was a lot of buzz on this model when it came out and many satisfied users have them. The newer releases, of course, have the attention now but here is one of the threads opened up for the SM 12.0 before it's release at 2009 NAMM:
Genz Benz Shuttle Max 12.0
I'm enjoying my Streamliner 900 but my SM12.0 isn't going anywhere. Both amps are top notch and just provide different colors in the pallette. The search tool is your friend. There is a huge amount of info in this site and elsewhere. Happy hunting...

I've got several gigs in now with my SM9.2, and about half a dozen with my new Uber 410 cab (was using an Eden 410XLT before that).

It's been performing flawlessly, and sounds great, no matter what type of stage/room we're in. My amp serves as a monitor on stage, and as a DI---we have our own (large) PA system that does all the FOH work. I REALLY like the DI on it---it produces MY sound through the mains perfectly. And it sounds great on stage, too. The two preamp setup is perfect for the wide variety of music my band plays---I can go from a great classic rock sound to a modern slap sound with the tap of a couple buttons on the footswitch.

I own one and really dig it with both my Berg AE 210 and my AudioKinesis Thunderchild.

The ShuttleMAX is my main, gigging amp...because I like the footswitch capability of the two channels.

I use a Shuttlemax 12.0 with an Uber 212 and it is pretty much perfection. My band forced me to stop using my VT bass because my standard tone was so damn good. lol.

With such a powerful EQ and blendable tube/fet channels I can get a very similar ampeg tone--basically there are limitless tonal possibilities. 3D clean, wooly warm and fat, hi-fi mid scoop...I could go on.

With the Uber 212 I never have to worry about not hearing myself on pretty much any stage and the beefy 212's can really pound when pushed....they take being pushed REALLY well.

The versatility of this rig just cant be beat. I can hook up two 4ohm loads for a massive 1200 watts or one 8 ohm 2x10 and still have a killer 375 watt rig that also kills and is totally gig worthy.

I really cant say enough good things about this amp. The only time Ive ever heard anyone say anything negative about this amp is when its something like "this amp has too many EQ options"

lol

The footswitch is very handy on the Max12... At times if know i am only going to use one channel.. I turn the other channel off so when i switch to it it doubles as MUTE.
Only better thing would be a MAX18.. weeeo

I've been using a ShuttleMax 12 and Uber 212 for about a year and a half now and have been very happy with this setup. There are plenty of great tones that work with a wide range of basses, and the EQ versatility to allow me to fine tune for any stage/room.

I guess since this rig is brand new to me, I forget there is more 'latest and greatest' gear from GB now Roger, I choose not to take your advise on two Uber 410's...went with a 212/410 rig...just to satisfy my curiosity...can't say I know for sure if I did the right thing...I'd love to try two 410's as well...heck, I REALLY want to hear 4 1288's! I may order a 1288 for my string band/upright gig...really curious about that as well...been on a touring break, so I only have one upright gig under my belt with the SM12/Uber212 combo...it was...good...still have to figure some things out, but I'm very happy so far. Thanks everyone!
