Since when did Eden stop producing WT405?

the title is pretty much selfexplanatory. I looked up a little bit about this head here on TB. seems like it is one you guys here are really fond of. I want to buy one, but the Eden internet site lists it in "discontinued products" section. Local store has one on discount, I've tried it and compared it with bunch of different heads. This one really left an impression. I'm really eager to get my paws on it. Any tips besides the answer to my question will be really appreciated.

The WT-330/390/405 is a GREAT amp; I can't say how long they've been out of production, but it's been awhile now. If you can get a decent(sub-$500)deal, I'd suggest grabbing it.

They went out of production in late 2009. I got my WT405 in 12/09 on closeout for $495 shipped and have seen them sell as low as $475. Best amp I've ever had.

the store in which i tried it has only one and it's going for 680 EUROS!! which makes it not so good a deal. it's 680*1.4= 952 USD. maybe i should haggle?

Not to say haggling won't get you a better deal but don't be expecting US prices in Outer Montenegro! US prices are always the best by miles and miles. They can even buy Canadian amps for less than what the Canadians pay!

actually, i'm from Belgrade, Serbia.
i've done some googlin' and found that thomann.de has a price for these at 675 EURO, so i guess price i got is quite fair. not to say that i won't be doing some hagglin'

Fairness doesn't come into it, or the Yanks couldn't buy their Traynors for less than the Canadians. Haggle their face off.

Are these discontinued amps still available at some stores? I'm very interested.

The problem with Eden when they discontinue a product is they no longer provide service for that product.

So, this means if you buy that amp new......they will not fix it, and have no parts to service it.

Now, on saying that, the Eden WT405 is the best amplifier I have owned.....and still own.

So I would say if you really like that amp and it seems to work fine make them a real low offer or, see if they will replace it with an amp of equal value should something go wrong......because you will NOT get the WT405 fixed.

That wouldn't particularly bother me unless it's full of those itty bitty surface mount components. Which it probably is.....
