single sub?

hey has anyone ever tried taking like a 4x10 or 4x12 and using just 1 sub and 3 woofers? i'm talking something that can hit that 30hz. no crossover, just run all of them full signal. maybe the bottom driver in a 2x setup? curious. farting out? mud? success? fail? what do you think?

Huh? Epic fail.

The sub's back pressure will push on the other drivers, but with no crossover you haven't got a sub anyway, it's just a 4x10 pushed below it's carrying capacity either way.

Other reason of complete failure... I can't think of a single sub that will even come close to keeping up volume wise with the other three drivers. Forget about it, and keep this idea in the garbage bin.

this is why places like this are a good thing. i had no plan, just wandering outside the realms of normality (and evidently physics as well) as usual.
