Slotted Port, Vertical Or Horizontal, Any Difference?

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, does it make any difference in sound? I'm running a Markbass Traveler 151P cab with a slot-type port in back. The port runs all along the bottom of the cab. If I turn the cab on its side (it's a tad taller that way) will that have any effect on how the port reacts with whatever's behind it? Will I hear any difference, good or bad? I've done it several times, but didn't really test it for any difference. It just occurred to me that it might make a difference, so I thought I better ask.

Thanks for any info, ya'll.

No difference in sound. If it's ported in the back, just keep it a few inches away from the wall so it doesn't interfere.

Always best to run cabs as vertically as possible, but port location makes no difference...
