| | | | Which small cab is compatible GK700RB-II

Hello everyone, I'm selling my 410RBX-II cab because I simply don't need a cab of that size (only been used for 3 gigs) I would like to know which small cab, maybe half the size of a 4X10 would be compatible with a GK700RBII head? How about the GK Neo models?
Thank you for your time.

Great, lightweight, awesome sounding cab.
But instead of two 112's, prefer the 212 (both cabs at the same time is wicked!). The 8ohm 212 let's push the head a little harder without getting dirty looks from your bandmates for being a bit too loud. It's pretty light as well. |

And although I generally don't like to combine 1x12's and 2x12's of the same impedance in one stack (for fear of driving the 1x12 too hard), Bob Gallien suggested that I try a Neo212-II & Neo112-II stack with the 700RB-II, and I was very impressed!
I keep saying this, but IME/IMHO, GK is making some of the best high quality bang for the buck gear out there, and their Neo 12" cabs are some of their exceptionally good products. |

Very hard to believe all the great tone and volume coming from such a light rig. Super versatile too..... 112 for small stages..... 212 for mid size..... and the 112/212 for the big stuff.
I know this thread is about cabs for the head...... but man, the 700rbII is such a great bass amp. It's got a heft and thickness to it's tone that the micros are missing. I keep thinking I should start buying them up, because I'm afraid BG will stop making them one day. |

Or, are you running the 112 and the 212 with the same wattage? |

Or, are you running the 112 and the 212 with the same wattage? | I am running both tweeters from the 50-watt horn amp, and all three drivers from the 700RB-II's main amp. This is the typical way to use the GK HMS setup. You need to use their supplied 4-wire Speakon cables, and the cabs need to be set to "bi-amp." As noted above, this means that I am driving the 12" driver in the 8-ohm Neo112-II twice as hard as I am driving the 12" drivers in the 8-ohm Neo212-II. Normally, I'd be concerned about that, and even recommend against it. But Bob says the Neo112-II can handle it, and by golly, it works and sounds great. If the 700RB-II were rated to 2 (or 2.67) Ohms, my preference would be to run an 8-ohm 1x12 and a 4-ohm 2x12, so that all three drivers see the same power handling. But the 700RB-II is only rated to 4-ohms, and while somewhat unconventional, the Neo112-II/Neo212-II stack seems to work very well with the 700RB-II.
But again, please do note that I would consider this to be the exception, not the rule. |
