Small cab suggestions to match with LMii

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I went to my local music stores & was able to play a couple of light cabs that I liked. But generally the variety was crap & they all seem to be more interested in selling flashy stuff than good quality gear.

Anyways I'm looking for a light cab that I can play with my ( coming soon) mbii that will work for both my big bass & my electric bass. I'm a passive fender guy...& I want to be able to play smallish to medium sized rock gigs without PA support.....but also walk in & out quick & easy!

Thanks for all the help!!

I've searched these forums again & again....but would still like somefeed back especially from someone who has a markbass amp.

The Markbass 210HF cab or the 121H cab.

How small do you want? How loud do you need to be?

There are a couple of good choices out there, but if you specifically say that you're going to do gigs without PA support I'd go with a Schroeder (1210L or 1212L). In terms of sheer volume, I'd say they are at the top of the list.

After a lot of research and testing, I recently got a deal on a 1212 and I'm still blown away by it. Mind you, I originally intended to buy the cab thinking it was their typical 4Ohm fare, then I found out it was an 8Ohm cab, which made me hesitate a bit since I wanted to use my head's full power. Then I gave it a go just to hear how it would sound and I was floored! At 8Ohms this things is unbelievably loud (Jörg, the company owner, states his cabs are very efficient in this department). And, like it has been said here before, not only is it loud, it sits extremely well in the mix (I can't remember getting more compliments on my sound ever since I got it).

Aside from that, Jörg's is a very attentive fellow that has answered every question I've asked him in very prompt fashion.

Just my 2 cents . . .

Have you played the 1210 with double bass?
