Smaller 1x15 cab with MarkBass tube 800?

Been doing some research and trolling around trying to find what I am looking for and I am stuck. Been through as many boutique companies as I can find and still not sure if I can find what I am looking for. I have a MarkBass Lil Mark 800 tube head and I would like to find a 1x15 cab for it. I have the Ampeg 4x10 HLF, which is huge and I don't want to lug it around to small practices with low volume bands. I also play at my church and I don't dig their setup too much and I would like to have a smaller 1x15 cab for that and for those practices which are normally held at my churches head office. Basically I want a small practice cab.

Here is where the problem is. I really don't want to spend more than $300 (I got my HLF used for $500 in brand new condition so I don't want to spend a lot more than that for a much smaller cab) and I want one that I can carry with one hand and doesn't take up much space. I really like the size of the Markbass New York 115 and the RJ version as well, however they are both way to pricey and I hate the carpet cover on the New York. I was checking out the Ampeg 115 portaflex series, non flip top but even that seems like it might be too big. Does what I am looking even exist? AND would I need to worry about the 800 watt head hurting the speaker? I wouldn't imagine so since I would be using it for quieter playing only.

Tell me what you guys think? I've already checked out Aguilar, Avatar, Epifani, Ampeg, Acoustic, MarkBass (obviously), GK, SWR, and the list may go on but I can't remember.

Greenboy Bassic 115 with a 3015 non LF would be my first choice on 115's.

Are those DIY kits? Their website makes me think that.

Oh wait, I actually messaged a guy who builds those today asking for some more specs. His place is asking for $700 for the 115 Bassic. Just too pricey.

Considering the cost of materials, and the capability of the cab, it sounds just about right to me.

"Too expensive for what it is" and "too expensive for me to purchase it" are two completely different things.

Any reason you are going for a 1x15? If it is just a small practice and low volume gig cab you are after, what about a 1x12?
I used to have 2 1x15s and would take one or two depending on the gig/jam. But bought 2 1x12s and they are way more portable and go just as low, it has covered all my needs thus far. I have kept the 15s but they have been collecting dust for a year now.

I'm sure it is an amazing cab, not doubting that. I just don't want to break the bank on something I just want for church and practicing. Believe me, if I could, I'd do it.

Do they only come with the regular parallel/ 1/4 inch speaker inputs or do they make them with speakon?

You can special order the Bag End S15-D w/speakon inputs for a small up-charge. I have one that I bought used on TalkBass that has them.

I've been eyeballing the Genz Benz Contour 1x15. Not too small or too big, good price.

I can do without Speakon I guess. Ok, time to save some cash, sell some gear, and hunt one down. I am really excited. Also, still open for suggestions. The size I am looking for though is spot on with the Bag End S15D though. Can the cab handle my 800? Anyone played a MarkBass through one before?

The S15 will handle it. Newer ones have speakons. If you can get over your carpet phobia you'll be able to find a used one pretty quickly.
They do come in bare stained birch for an upcharge...

PS- Make sure it has the stock Bag End driver in it.

I have a spare BE speakon plate I can sell you if you pick one up that doesn't have them. They are some of the best built cabs bar none and should handle your head's power just fine. I've pummeled my stack with huge power no problem. OEM driver is key when buying used - if not, run the other way.
