Room for 3 pedals? You were lucky. I used to have to stand on my amp in a corner of t' lighting cupboard ... (in a thick Yorkshire accent).

WE used to aff to lick OUR Cabs clean wit toong!!!

Then, When we finished the gig, the manager would talk to us with tales SO BORING, we'd all die before getting paid - 29P of course.

But seriously:- had to sit a TL606 under the window sill, al' tube amp on it's side next to that & play with my bass headstock just about in the drummers ear, & his ride cymbal in mine :-/

lol - I have a once-a-month gig with a jazz guitarist (it's not my regular band, but I like it) at a restaurant where I have two 12" by 12" squares to work with, one for me and one for an amp. I'd play upright if I could, but there's no room. I use a fretless '78 Fender P into a Radial Bassbone by my feet, into a Genz Benz 3.0-8 Shuttle in the other tiny spot about 10 feet away. That's all there is room for. It's still fine.

What I deemed the "bassist peninsula" at a local bar, a small piece of stage sticking off the side of the (tiny) main stage. About five square feet for rig, pedals, and a whole bunch of me.
