I use one on my bench for testing when I wire up basses. Sound like dirt with an active bass.

It just farts at any volume. Its pretty bad. It is better with guitar, but with bass, fogetaboutit.

It will power an extension cab though...

A project like that is a perfect introduction to electronics IMHO.

Novelty mini amps to amuse guitar players and nothing more. There also ain't nothing wrong with that at all.

peter buck from rem used a metric crap ton of these on an rem album they were recording at ardent here in memphis. the guy at the music store finally asked the guy why they were buying them 10 at a time...
the guy responds "the batteries keep dying." They had no clue you could change out the batteries. lol
they do sound pretty darn cool through a 2x12 for guitar. great tele tone.
