So I think I may have gotten screwed.

Well I just bought a 2x15 cab from a guy and though the cab sounds great he advertised it as an Ampeg but I now have my doubts. I had to make a decision fast so I jumped on it. I can post pics later if needed but I came across this site while at work and thought I may be able to find some answers here. It has an ampeg jack on the back but it still seems fishy. Any advice?

Advice: post photos, don't throw away the guy's number, just in case.

Can't be of much help without pics. Ampeg as made at least 4 or 5 variations on the 2x15 theme over the years, so it could be any one of them.

I have his number, but the ad that advertised the Ampeg name is gone =/ I'll post pics as soon as I can though. Thanks!

What seems fishy to you?

I mean, what are you comparing it to that makes the deal have some perceived possible stinkiness?

well upon closer inspection of it some parts of the amps seem to have been changed or altered. I will post pics as soon as I can get off work.

Well as long as it sounds great, I wouldn't worry too much.

Post pics...Ampeg cabs aren't really worth that much anyway...I bought a 1970's Ampeg 8x10 used for $120. If it sounds good who cares.

Photos please. Ampeg made some different 2x15's over the years from different eras, so you never know what you might have. Could be a B25 cab, V4B, BT-15C, SVT-215E, SVR-215, or an LGS-215. All of which had 2x15's

If it sounds good, and the price was right for what it is,does it mater what name it says on the back?

Post some pics. Should be much easier to verify that way. There quite a few Ampeg 2x15"s that have pretty substantial differences.
