At the risk of sounding a bit lazy, I am curious what people are generally digging these days. I am looking for something to go with the Bergantino HD212 I plan on getting, but it appears there is some backlash against the amp I was considering, that being the RH750.
In terms of sound, if there is one thing I am not, I would say it is a rock player. So what out there seems to be working well for folks? I am not seeing anything super enticing really...

Most of the backlash on the RH750 is TCE's "dishonesty" in their power ratings, but I can tell you that the RH750 sounds like 750 honest watts. The RH750 does require considerably more EQ tweaking than, say, Eden amps.
Speking of Eden, the WTX-500 is a great-sounding amp if you don't need more power. It takes a little minor EQ adjustment to get the classic Eden "flat" tone.
I haven't had a chance to play through an HD212 at BSD yet, but if it sounds anything like the AE212, I'd go with the Shuttle 9.0 with it.

I played one through my Bergie NV cabs and if you didn't know about the wattage brouhaha before you would never guess there was an issue. It was freaking loud and solid sounding.
Lots of sounds in that head, without the preset function it would be maddening, but I bet you could get some great a nd radically different yet useful tones from it, great if you need the versatility. I'm amazed by the compression on these amps, too. |

It isn't a neutral sounding amp, but provided you don't hate the voicing you can't go much wrong IMO.

Thoughts? | If you're not a rock player I don't think the TCE Stuff will be good for you.
