I noticed the UL502 & UL902C are no longer on their website. Have they been discontinued?

epifani still has them on their site, but you have to google the model number and be directly linked to it. a few stores still sell it. but from the looks of the website, i would say that it probably has been discontinued.

These were discontinued a while back. I assume due to being old models that were expensive and that probably didn't sell well. They are no longer on the site. The only amps they make are the PS400 and PS1000, which have gotten mixed reviews.

The DIST cabs seem like kind of a dud, given the stupid high price, and the suggestion from reviews that the impedance switching does not really work like one would hope (i.e., the more drivers, the less sensitivity, which kind of makes the whole 'switching to a lower impedance' kind of useless). Since the weight of the UL's has increased in the past couple of years, and since those designs are getting a bit tired, it would be cool for Nick (IMO) to come out with the UL Series III... which would basically be the DIST cabs without the dual voice coil/impedance switching thing at 'ULII' pricing. That would freshen the line (lighter weight.. the DIST cabs are the same weight as the original UL's, spray on finish, and updated look).

This is a great idea...I would definitely be first in line to get one of those!

The weight increase thing on the ULII's is pretty strange. IMO, if you read between the lines, I think they are no longer made in New York at the shop. When they increased weight spec from the early ULII's, the grills also changed from the small hole design to the large hole design of the PS cabs. On the website, the DIST cabs specifically say that they are handmade at the shop in New York like it is a specific feature. It doesn't say this on the UL cabs. The DIST cabs have the same weight specs of the original UL's. I don't know at what point it happened, but they also lowered the prices on the ULII's - the 410UL is now $999 on the online sites like Musicians Friend when it used to be $1199.

Yeah...that specs on that amp were SWEET when it was first announced, but it was delayed and didn't ship for a couple years. By the time it was actually available the micro amp market had become completely mainstream and the weight/power specs were no longer as impressive considering how much that amp was priced at.
