Sold my amp, and the budged is gone.

Sign in to disble this ad
I sold my Fender bassman tv 15, and I have an unexpected budged cut because of damage to my water pipes at home, and someone stole my thunderbird.

so now I need a new bass, and amp... I'm going to buy a stingray, love the sound, wanted one for a long time... as for the amp, I need your help.

since everything is every expensive here in israel, I'll just list every option with the price converted to us dollars.

I'm thinking about getting these amps:
Orange crush 25 NEW - 200$
Orange crush 50 NEW - 400$
GK 4x10 SBX 400W+ampeg b1 USED - 700$

the limit is 500$, and I don't know if I should, or can get it up to 700$.
and now after I quit my band, and I started learning jazz, I play only at home, or jam with friends.

want should I do, and are the small Orange amps really that great?

Sorry for your troubles, but no, the little Orange amps are good for bedroom practice. I'd suggest looking at used gear, and stay away from the tiny practice combo's. Hope you work it out.

If you wanna go the combo route, check out a GK MB115 or any of the GK MB combos....

I have lost three basses this way and I can only offer my sympathies. I hope you can get the Tbird back.

The new Ampegs are great for the money. Look into the PF-350/115 or the VR/210 micro stacks. Both sound GREAT and are quite affordable. Enough for gigs/jams also.
Another option, if available, are either the Ibanez or Kustom micros and cabs. All offer good performance for affordable prices.
As for basses, Ibanez ATK basses offer similar sounds and decent quality for people who like MM Stingrays. I have one, great rock bass.

For sure, the GK "MB" combos get nothing but love by most folks who use them...would look into that until the budget comes back up in the future...best of luck!

Yeah if theft is a common problem, you could always downgrade and probably be just as happy... it sucks to be spoiled with awesome high end gear, cuz I remember when I thought $500 was a premium bass and anything over $300 was out of my price range for an amp.

Could go for a $400 bass, $500 amp/cab rig (either combo or separate) and be ready to play with very solid equipment for less than a grand. As stated the ATK's are awesome (I have one too, will never let it go) and with this bass, I really have no need for a real Musicman.

it's not common, I left my gig bag in the car for 2 minutes, and someone broke my window, and took it.

I think that a amp head, and cab would be too much for my budget.
I'm looking into small combos, atleast for the next 3-4 months. It's just for my living room, and very small gigs.

+1. Great little combos, affordable, light and powerful. The MB210 costs a bit more than the MB115, but you can add an extension cab to it later to expand your sound.

as others have mentioned, look into the GK MB series (either a combo or head and cab) or the new Ampeg portaflex series. Also, the 100 and 200 watt "Acoustic" branded combos that guitar center and musiciansfriend sells are pretty decent for the price. Not sure how difficult that would be to get in Israel. Good luck, and my condolences for your lost bass!

Acoustic B200H and B410 Stack: Shop Bass & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend

A little over, but this brand is good for the price. Pretty sturdy, and they sound decent.

Or the 115+the B200H.
